What if I told you that you are a spiritual master. Would you laugh or be perplexed?

A sagacious friend recently gave light to this intriguing assertion about our tumult of a present day, that the great upheavals we are witnessing, causing so much consternation in our collective mindset is actually the pain of labour. In this instance, I am reminded of one of the most awe-inspiring and enigmatic images of modern cinema: the closing Star Child of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, where a giant luminous fetal human child is seen approaching the Earth, symbolic of the birth of a new consciousness.

Some people are going to label this wishful thinking, hippy hogwash or privileged hubris but truly it is my intention to speak beyond such confines. What I believe we are witnessing at the moment is the inability for our species to forge a collective vision that includes everyone. I have never witnessed such a collapse of harmony and respectful dialogue on social media until recently. 

Marijuana (or Sante Maria, as the plant spirit is often referred to) has been used as a sacrament, a medicine, and in many other intentional capacities as a means to expand consciousness and also to connect us more to 'feminine-yin' aspects of our nature, including intuition, creativity and the mystical. 

I read my New Year’s transmission from 2016 called One Giant Leap to connect to the threads of last year as I prepped for my 2017 writing and was joyous to behold the profound synchronicities that have passed during this year of intense growth. It truly has been one giant leap for our species: 2016 was one of the most powerful years to date and the evolution of consciousness continues to accelerate at a dizzying pace. 

It is both remarkable and wholly necessary that we are witnessing more and more humans celebrating these seasonal nodes such as the Solstices & Equinoxes for this is one of the primary ways we are re-weaving ourselves into the cycles of the Earth, re-indigenizing ourselves (especially for those who have been culturally cut off from their indigenous roots) AND offering a more spiritual and even celebratory context for the resolving of the environmental crisis.
